Eek!

Eek! From 2012 JCS Halloween issue, it says the designer is 'Stitch Kitty' but I think it 'Stitchy Kitty'. I used the called for DMC and Crescent threads and 32 count violet mist linen.

Has it been a year?

So, now that this year's JCS Halloween issue is out, I'm finally finishing something from last year's issue! This is 'Not Forgotted' by Plum Street Samplers, stitched with the called for Gentle Arts on 40 count vintage light examplar linen. It was a great project to have with me at the hospital recently when my son had surgery, as I had already stitched the black outlines so I could just work on the filling in stitches. This chart is pictured on the front of the 2012 Halloween issue, but is not actually *in* it. I found the chart on the JCS website. I have one more from this issue almost done, hopefully this week!

Color help

I'm wondering if I dreamed this or if there really was somebody stitching this with a different color palette. As I'm not crazy about the colors that come in this kit, I want to change them and I *think* I saw it on a blog being stitched with different colors. Ring a bell with anybody?? I love the design but I think I'd be unhappy with it stitched in these colors :-/. I changed the colors for 'The ABCs of Aging Artfully' for the same reason. It took forever to work out those changes! Hoping to find the conversion for this design of the pretty colors I envision in my head without going crazy figuring it out.

Latest Finish- Faith

Faith by Erica Michaels, stitched on 28 count 'Precious Metals' from Needleworkers Delight with Anchor 403. This chart comes with 40 count silk gauze, to be stitched over-one. That makes the chart a bit more expensive, and that gauze will probably go in the trash, but I loved this design so much, it's worth it! :-) no WAY I'm going to stitch over one on 40 count!

Happy New Year!

Wishing everybody a wonderful, productive, and prosperous new year! This fine freezing cold day has found me in my stitching studio, stitching while watching videos with my sweet pup keeping my feet warm. I can't think of a better day to spend my day off work! :-) Stitching time has been sparse the last two or three months so its a real treat! I'm including a picture of my latest finish, an ornament for my dear friend whose name is Joy. I think it's hard to tell but the thread is a Kreinik braid, and the ric rac is sparkly too. This is an ornament design by Lizzie Kate from her 'Angel Stocking' pattern.

A Flock of Friends

This is 'A Flock if Friends' by Blackbird Designs, from their 2012 Summer Loose Feathers book. It is stitched on 30 count R&R Abecedarian linen with Gentle Arts sampler threads. It's one of those projects for me that I thought would go fairly quick but took a couple months to finish. Of course it would have been done much sooner if I wasn't constantly distracted by other things!
